(7 Days)

Bus Trip

Walking Level: Light to Moderate

Howdy Ya'll! Join Special Journeys for some BBQ, Balloons, and Music in the great state of Texas!

When they say, "Everything is bigger in Texas," they mean it! Our trip first brings us to the Canton Balloon Festival. Located just an hour outside of the Dallas area, we'll stop at this small town to watch as large balloons of every color take off. We will spend a whole day watching a wonderful display of balloons speckle the blue sky of Texas. These hot air balloons take a team of at least 4 to fly, are usually 70 feet high and 55 feet wide. That's as tall as a 7-story building! As we watch the balloons we'll also take a tour of the festival, which includes non-stop music, delicious food, and vendors showcasing their art.

The next day we head to Luckenbach, Texas. Here we'll experience the quiet charm of this infamous Texas town and enjoy the small things that life has to offer, bluebonnets, oak trees, peach orchards, and most importantly music. Luckenbach is THE place to go to listen to country music in the Big Star State. With a strong western aesthetic and a ghost-town feel we will stop by the famous General Store where you can grab a t-shirt, hat or other souvenir before heading over to enjoy some BBQ. It is the south after all! Pulled pork, yummy chicken, ribs with delicious macaroni and cheese, collard greens and more. Yum Yum!

Our final stop on this adventure brings us to Gruene Hall, Texas' oldest dance hall! Strap on those cowboy boots and get ready to move. Built in 1878, this is the oldest venue in the state to continuously run dance hall and has live music played every day. And if these walls could talk, this venue has hosted all of the famous names in country music, Meryl Haggard, George Straight, Lyle Lovett, Garth Brooks, Willie Nelson and more. Walking into the 6,000-square foot dance hall you'll see a high-pitched tin roof, lots of room for dancing, and a huge outdoor garden to hang out in.

Jump on in and get ready to dance on this Country Music adventure with Special Journeys!
